Job Title

TEXO Recruitment is delighted to be supporting our client, a leader in the civils and construction industry, in the search for an experienced and motivated Site Manager to join their growing team in Aberdeenshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with proven site management experience to take ownership of project delivery, leading site teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, to the highest quality standards, and within budget.

The suitable candidate will have the opportunity to work on exciting new award wins across Aberdeenshire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all on-site personnel, ensuring safe and effective day-to-day site operations.
  • Ensure full compliance with all health and safety legislation, company procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Take responsibility for daily site decisions, driving productivity, efficiency, and project profitability.
  • Liaise closely with the design team to coordinate drawings, specifications, and the timely resolution of technical queries (TQs).
  • Allocate daily tasks and provide clear direction to site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Identify team training and development requirements and support ongoing workforce development.
  • Maintain exceptional quality standards through Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) inspections, defect management, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor project programmes and milestones, producing detailed 2–4 week look-ahead schedules to ensure appropriate labour, plant, and material resources are available.
  • Identify opportunities for programme improvements, value engineering, and enhanced project delivery, subject to approval.
  • Review project specifications and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Prepare accurate material take-offs and supporting documentation, including marked-up drawings and records.

Essential Requirements

  • CITB SMSTS Certification.
  • Valid CSCS Card.
  • First Aid at Work Certification.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Demonstrable experience managing multi-disciplinary construction projects.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and influence teams.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and time management abilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT systems.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree-qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • NVQ/SVQ Level 4 in Construction Management, or currently working towards qualification.
  • Trade background or completion of a recognised construction apprenticeship.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in site supervision or project management roles.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of construction legislation, regulations, and industry best practice.
