Site Manager

Freelance Site Manager - Education Refurbishment & M&E Project

Location: Stoke-on-Trent Start Date: 13th July Duration: Until the beginning of September Working Hours: Day shifts, Monday to Friday Contract Type: Freelance

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee an education refurbishment and M&E project in Stoke-on-Trent.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised Site Manager with a proven track record of delivering refurbishment and mechanical & electrical (M&E) projects safely, on programme, and to a high standard within live educational environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the site.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and M&E trades.
  • Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Liaise with the client, design team, and Contracts Manager.
  • Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily briefings.
  • Monitor progress, resolve site issues, and maintain accurate site records.
  • Manage deliveries, logistics, and programme compliance.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience managing education refurbishment projects.
  • Experience coordinating mechanical & electrical (M&E) works.
  • Valid SMSTS.
  • Valid CSCS Card.
  • Valid First Aid at Work certificate.
  • Valid Fire Marshal certificate.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate issued within the last 2 years.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Strong understanding of current health & safety legislation.
