Job Description

The Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) project currently involves the planning, design, and construction of circa 320km of new strategic, large diameter, clean water interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure across Anglian Water’s region. The SPA Alliance is also taking on responsibility for the future interconnector pipelines, a further 260km of strategic interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure.

This role will be site based in the North Norfolk area.

Responsibilities

These are full-time positions and required for the enabling phase which starts with identification of the preferred solutions and includes design work, surveys, consenting, and any early construction work to enable the main construction phase. The key site activities to plan and manage will include:

  • Ecology surveys
  • Archaeological investigations & trial trenching
  • Ground investigations
  • Engineering surveys
  • Environmental surveys
  • Mobilisation and management of temporary enabling phase works compounds
  • Mobilisation and handover of temporary construction phase works compounds
  • Oversee the management of site-based Supervisors, Delivery Teams, and relevant areas of the supply chain.
  • Responsible for delivery of projects in line with tender allowances and agreed programmes of work, actively managing any slippage of programme or costs.
  • Oversee and coach sub-contractor performance, ensuring variations are kept to an absolute minimum.
  • Completion Alliance development reviews, provide clear, achievable goals to members of the construction teams reporting to the site manager.
  • All initiatives are supported and implemented within minimal disruption.
  • Liaison with the Client’s Operational staff to ensure Key Performance Parameters are met or exceeded.
  • Support preparation of supplier and/or sub-contractor estimates and quotations.
  • All sites safety documentation is kept up to date, current, and communicated/accepted by site-based teams.
  • Able to deliver schemes in value from £200k up to £20m.
  • Input into works information with the commercial teams to ensure project scope is met in full or areas identified as requiring alternative contractor input.
  • Compliance CPMS process
  • Compliance with BIM procedures including ensuring issues with design are raised.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

  • Knowledge and Experience in the water industry
  • Commercial and Contractual understanding & awareness.
  • Have knowledge and experience of working to a budget and programme.
  • Effective management of sub-contractors.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills.
  • Basic Management training, skills & experience.
  • Good understanding of legislative and corporate SHEQ / Industry / Legal requirements.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills.

  • Basic IT abilities including MS programmes.

  • Self-motivating and a good motivator of the site team.
  • Generally to be willing, helpful, enthusiastic, and flexible.
  • Production of CPP, RA & MS for projects & tasks submitted in a timely manner for approval by relevant approvers.
  • Use of and support the implementation of the latest technology to drive a fully digital approach to site delivery.
  • Possess a good ability to adapt to & drive change.

Qualifications

  • Completed a LOLER course
  • Certified Fire Marshall
  • To have a certificate in Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
  • Relevant management CSCS card
  • SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme) or approved Partner internal equivalent course attended
  • 3 day First Aid at Work course inc. defibrillator
  • Full UK Driving Licence
