Site Manager – CMDP+ Joint Venture (AMP8 Capital Delivery Programme)

MWH Treatment & Costain Group are part of the CMDP+ joint venture, responsible for delivering a range of construction schemes to maintain and improve Southern Water’s water supply and wastewater treatment works in the South and Southeast regions.
The Joint Venture has been established to execute the 5-year (2025–2030) AMP8 capital delivery framework, delivering a £1bn programme of works over five years. Projects span heavy civil engineering and mechanical & electrical activities.
As Site Manager, you will oversee the project from start to finish, ensuring it is completed on time, on budget, and to quality standards, while prioritising safety for everyone on site.

Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
- Coordinate all operational activities, ensuring projects align with plans, specifications, and health & safety regulations
- Accountable for SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) performance, including weekly SHEQ tours
- Oversee the management of site Supervisors, Delivery Teams, and supply chain
- Liaise with Client’s Operational staff to meet Key Performance Parameters
- Compile final contract documentation, Safe to Operate (STO) reports, as-built drawings, test sheets, inspection & test plans, and integrate these into Operation & Maintenance Manuals
- Work with commercial teams to ensure project scope is delivered in full or identify areas needing alternative contractor input
- Identify and promote low-carbon products and practices on projects
- Monitor work progress, ensuring quality standards, and resolving deviations from the project plan

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Water industry knowledge and experience
- Commercial and contractual awareness
- Experience managing projects to budget and programme
- Effective site team and subcontractor management
- Strong customer relationship skills
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- CITB Temporary Works Coordinator Certification
Essential Qualifications
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) Certificate
- Valid CSCS Manager Card (relevant to the role)
- SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme) or approved Partner equivalent
- 3-day First Aid at Work (including defibrillation training)
Desirable Qualifications
- Degree, NVQ Level 6, or HND in a relevant discipline
- Extensive experience in M&E/construction sectors
- IOSH Modern COSHH Management Certificate
