About the Role

Ready for your next big challenge? We're looking for a dynamic leader who can inspire teams, deliver results, and drive performance across a fast-paced distribution operation.

Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for a Site Manager to lead our La Doria site in Sproughton, Ipswich. As Site Manager, you’ll be responsible for the safe, compliant, efficient, and profitable operation of the Sproughton Distribution Centre. Leading across people, safety, customer service, and operational performance, you’ll deliver key KPI and financial targets, build strong customer partnerships, and drive a culture of continuous improvement, engagement, and talent development within an Open Book commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire warehouse and site operations teams, creating a high-performing culture focused on safety, engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Take ownership of site performance, delivering against customer, operational, financial, and productivity targets while managing budgets and P&L
  • Build strong customer partnerships, leading reviews, audits, strategic projects, and business continuity planning to ensure exceptional service delivery
  • Champion compliance across Health & Safety, Quality, Food Safety, BRCGS, HACCP, and environmental standards, ensuring legal and operational requirements are met
  • Drive operational excellence by optimising warehouse processes, inventory accuracy, capacity utilisation, and cost efficiency while supporting business growth and peak demand periods

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating at Distribution Centre Manager or Site Manager level within a warehouse, logistics, or supply chain environment
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, KPIs, and delivering operational performance
  • Excellent stakeholder management and customer relationship skills, with a track record of operating in customer-focused environments
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and change management capability, with the ability to build high-performing, engaged teams and drive continuous improvement
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation, with an IOSH Managing Safely qualification preferred; NEBOSH, ILM, CILT, and Continuous Improvement qualifications are advantageous

Pay, Benefits, and More

This is a full-time, permanent position, predominately working Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00. We do require some flexibility; this is logistics after all.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £69,000.00 per annum plus eligibility for the discretionary bonus scheme, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company car or car allowance to the value of £505 per month, company-sponsored pension scheme, private medical & dental insurance, a 24/7 online GP service, life assurance and a fully comprehensive employee assistance programme.
