Contract Civils Site Manager – West Midlands

We are currently seeking an experienced Civils Site Manager for a long-term contract with a major civils contractor, delivering projects across the West Midlands.

The role will involve overseeing civils works on 11kV and 33kV substation projects, managing site operations and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to programme. You'll be responsible for supervising civils teams carrying out excavation works for ducting installations and cable installation associated with substation infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee civils teams on site.
  • Supervise excavation, ducting, and cable installation works for 11kV and 33kV substations.
  • Ensure all works are delivered safely, in line with project specifications and programme.
  • Coordinate site activities and maintain high standards of health and safety.
  • Complete site documentation, progress reports, daily diaries, and other project reporting accurately and on time.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients, providing regular updates on site progress.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Civils Site Manager is essential.
  • Experience within the HV / power distribution sector is highly desirable.
  • Candidates with a strong background in utilities (water, gas, or similar infrastructure projects) will also be considered.
  • Valid SMSTS certification.
  • NRSWA Supervisor qualification.
  • Strong understanding of civils construction practices and site management.
  • Good report writing and administrative skills, with the ability to produce clear and accurate site records.
