We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join a specialist construction contractor delivering complex projects within the nuclear, industrial, infrastructure, and commercial sectors.

The business has an excellent reputation for delivering technically demanding construction and engineering projects in highly regulated environments. Working closely with major clients across the UK, they are recognised for their commitment to safety, quality, innovation, and collaborative project delivery. With a significant pipeline of work at Hinkley Point, this is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced delivery team on one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects.

The Role

We are looking for a Site Manager to oversee a package of external construction works at Hinkley Point. This is a hands-on management role requiring an individual who is confident managing multiple subcontractors, maintaining programme performance, and ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and quality are achieved throughout the project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day external construction activities on site.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, labour, plant, and material deliveries.
  • Oversee external works including groundworks, hard landscaping, drainage, reinforced concrete, external infrastructure, paving, kerbing, ducting, and associated civil construction activities.
  • Ensure all works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Maintain site documentation including RAMS, permits, inspections, and progress reports.
  • Carry out regular quality inspections and manage snagging where required.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, commercial teams, and client representatives.
  • Chair site coordination meetings and provide regular progress updates.
  • Drive programme performance while maintaining strict compliance with site procedures.
  • Ensure all work complies with nuclear site regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Site Manager delivering external works, civil engineering, infrastructure, or groundworks packages.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple subcontractors.
  • Experience working on large, technically challenging construction projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach with a strong focus on health, safety, quality, and programme delivery.

  • CSCS Card
  • First Aid at Work
  • Current Hinkley Point Security Clearance (essential) – applicants must already hold valid site clearance and be able to start immediately.
