Site Manager – Permanent (Halesworth, IPAnglia Region)

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Site Manager to lead our construction projects in the Anglia region, based at Halesworth (IP19 8TP). This role involves overseeing traditional build homes to premium Hopkins Homes standards, ensuring meticulous quality, efficiency, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain strict compliance with company health and safety standards, NHBC regulations, building regulations, and overall quality standards on site.
  • Coordinate labour and resources effectively to deliver build programmes on larger developments, optimising the scheduling of trades.
  • Conduct company-directed quality control inspections at appropriate stages, rectifying defects to prevent cost overruns, delays, or quality reduction.
  • Monitor and control production costs, approving contractor payments where necessary.
  • Lead plot inspections with local building inspectors or NHBC, ensuring minimal Regulatory Inspections (RI’s) or Breaches of Regulations (BRI’s).
  • Conduct regular toolbox talks/briefings to reinforce best practice, risk mitigation, and proactive quality control.
  • Proactively liaise with internal/external departments, suppliers, and partners to achieve build programme targets.
  • Collaborate with Sales teams via regular build/sales meetings to ensure smooth, controlled customer home delivery.
  • Maintain the highest site presentation standards.
  • Lead New Home Demos with Sales Advisors, handling customer queries, and addressing issues pre-legal completion.
  • Work with the Contracts Manager to ensure the on-site construction team is well-resourced and aligned, providing clear guidance, training, and workload organisation.
  • Set a positive example in health & safety, organisation, professionalism, and quality.

Requirements & Experience

We’re seeking candidates with the following qualifications and experience:

  • NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management (or equivalent)
  • CSCS – Black (Management) or White (Academic) Card
  • SMSTS certification
  • First Aid at Work qualification
  • BREGS accreditation (or commitment to achieve within probation)
  • Fire Safety for low-rise housing (or willingness to obtain during probation)
  • Environment Supervision in Construction Training (SSP / SEATS)
  • Strong understanding of NHBC/LABC/Premier standards
  • Experience in working to structured build programmes
  • Proven ability to deliver weekly targets through proactive labour organisation and a collaborative team approach
  • Experience in managing contractor agreements and coordinating contractor supervisors
  • Extensive construction/building knowledge, including health & safety, NHBC, and legislated requirements
  • Exceptional communication skills to inquire control, resolve issues, and justify standards
  • Leadership experience ensuring efficient high-quality delivery
  • Proven customer-facing experience, including empowerment, consultation, and issue resolution
  • Proficient IT skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel)
  • A valid UK driver’s licence
