Site Manager

Location: Cardiff
Sector: Refurbishment & Construction
Salary: Up to £55,000 + Package

The Opportunity

A well-established regional contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to lead the delivery of a refurbishment project in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to join a contractor renowned for delivering high-quality refurbishment, restoration and construction projects across Wales and the South West. Working across sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, heritage and public buildings, the business has built a strong reputation for quality, collaboration and repeat business.

You'll take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the exceptional standards the business is known for. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with an experienced operational team while benefiting from a healthy pipeline of future projects across the region.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing the day-to-day delivery of a refurbishment project from site setup through to completion
  • Coordinating subcontractors, direct labour and suppliers on site
  • Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme
  • Managing site logistics, material deliveries and short-term programming
  • Carrying out quality inspections and ensuring works meet specification
  • Maintaining health and safety compliance across all site activities
  • Liaising with clients, consultants and project stakeholders throughout delivery
  • Chairing site progress meetings and producing regular reports
  • Identifying and resolving site issues to maintain programme and quality standards
  • Managing project documentation, site records and inspections
  • Supporting successful commissioning and project handover
  • Promoting a positive site culture and maintaining excellent working relationships

About You

  • Previous experience as a Site Manager working for a main contractor
  • Proven experience delivering refurbishment projects
  • Experience within education, healthcare, commercial or heritage sectors would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and refurbishment methodologies
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation and site compliance
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and maintain programme
  • SMSTS qualification
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • First Aid at Work qualification
  • Full UK driving licence
