Job Purpose
Peter Duffy Ltd and United Infrastructure are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Manager to oversee the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of wastewater infrastructure projects across the Yorkshire Water AMP8 framework.
The Site Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management, coordination, and supervision of both self-delivery civil engineering operations and specialist subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, to programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Working across a range of wastewater treatment and network projects, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, and operational excellence while supporting Yorkshire Water's investment objectives.
Site Management & Delivery
- Manage the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of construction sites across wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate and supervise direct labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, drawings, programmes, and contractual requirements.
- Plan and manage site activities to meet project milestones and key performance indicators.
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify and mitigate risks to programme delivery.
- Ensure all site activities comply with Yorkshire Water standards and framework requirements.

Health, Safety & Environment
- Champion a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
- Lead daily briefings, toolbox talks, and site safety inspections.
- Produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and ensure they are communicated, and adhered to at all times.
- Conduct site audits and inspections to maintain compliance with company and client requirements.
- Ensure environmental controls are maintained and site activities minimise impact on surrounding communities and ecosystems.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all works are completed to the required quality standards and client specifications.
- Maintain accurate site records, quality documentation, inspection reports, and as-built information.
- Coordinate site inspections, testing, commissioning activities, and handover documentation.
- Drive a "right first time" approach to project delivery.
Commercial & Operational Performance
- Assist Project Managers with resource planning and programme management.
- Monitor labour, plant, and material utilisation to maximise productivity and efficiency.
- Identify, record, and communicate variations and potential commercial impacts.
- Support cost control initiatives and efficient project delivery.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary site-based representative for Peter Duffy Ltd and United Infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with Yorkshire Water representatives, local authorities, landowners, and other stakeholders.
- Liaise effectively with design teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve operational issues.
- Support customer and community engagement activities where required.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Site Manager role within civil engineering or utility infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience delivering wastewater, water, or utility infrastructure works.
- Experience managing both direct labour and specialist subcontractors.
- Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction programmes.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple work fronts simultaneously.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience working within Yorkshire Water or other UK Water Industry frameworks.
- Knowledge of AMP programmes and wastewater treatment processes.
- Temporary Works awareness.
- Experience in confined space environments.
- Understanding of NEC contracts and project delivery processes.
