We’re seeking a Site Operations Leader to oversee warehouse and logistics activity across our regional hub. This senior, hands-on role combines operational leadership with strategic planning: you’ll be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, customer-focused delivery of goods while developing and coaching teams to meet performance and service targets.

The role: Lead site-wide warehouse and transport operations, ensuring targets for productivity, OTIF, quality and cost are achieved Manage and develop supervisors, warehouse operatives, drivers and temporary staff to create a high-performing and safety-conscious team Plan resource and capacity across shifts, balancing workload, vehicle utilisation and customer delivery commitments Oversee despatch, returns and distribution activities, working closely with planners to optimise routes and schedules Monitor and report on key operational KPIs (throughput, OTIF, shrinkage, vehicle utilisation), producing concise management reports and action plans Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, transport regulations and company procedures, including driver licence and tachograph checks, vehicle defect reporting and safe systems of work Drive continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse and transport processes to increase efficiency, reduce cost and enhance customer experience Manage recruitment, induction and training; conduct performance conversations, coaching and development activity to retain and grow talent Resolve operational issues and customer escalations promptly, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence Maintain accurate records using warehouse management systems (WMS), transport management systems (TMS) and handheld devices to control stock and movements

Who we’re looking for: Proven experience leading warehouse and transport operations at site or regional level, with staff management responsibility Strong operational planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to perform under pressure Sound knowledge of transport legislation, driver hours rules and vehicle safety requirements Confident user of IT systems including Microsoft Office; experience of WMS/TMS and handheld devices desirable Excellent communication and people management skills with a collaborative, coaching approach Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement and cost control Practical, hands-on approach and willingness to support operational activity when required Flexible and resilient, prepared to support business continuity and occasional out-of-hours incidents

Working hours, location and flexibility: Full-time role working set shifts; pattern to be agreed to meet operational needs (days/early/late) Based at our regional warehouse and transport hub with occasional travel between sites Some out-of-hours contact may be required for critical incidents and business continuity
