Site Operative – Recycling Centre (Part-Time) – East Grinstead
Location: East Grinstead
Working Days: Monday and Thursday (2 days per week)
Working Hours

Summer (01 April to 30 September): 08:45 to 18:15, with a 30-minute unpaid break

Winter (01 October to 31 March): 08:45 to 16:15, with a 30-minute unpaid break
Pay Rate: £12.91 per hour
About the Role
As a Site Operative, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our recycling centre runs safely and efficiently. From assisting visitors to maintaining the site, your work will help create a cleaner, greener community.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly
- Assist visitors in sorting and recycling waste effectively
- Keep the site clean, safe, and organised
- Stop commercial and non-compliant waste from entering the site
- Promote recycling by maximising waste segregation wherever possible
- Contribute to a team that makes a tangible impact on the environment and local community
- Gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, outdoor environment
- Enjoy the satisfaction of knowing your efforts help reduce waste and increase recycling
