Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £12,480 per annum (equivalent to £31,200 FTE)
- Additional benefits include:

Role Purpose
As a Site Operator, you'll help ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a small-scale industrial power generation facility supplying electricity to the National Grid.
Working alongside the Operations team, you'll respond to equipment faults, carry out routine inspections, perform basic maintenance, and help maximise plant availability across generation assets including gas engines, solar, and associated plant equipment.
This role would suit someone with a mechanical or electrical background looking for a hands-on position within the growing energy generation sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and support the operation of power generation equipment
- Respond to plant alarms, trips, and equipment faults
- Carry out basic mechanical and electrical maintenance
- Perform routine inspections and condition checks
- Complete operational logs and maintenance records
- Help minimise downtime and maximise plant availability
- Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards
- Support breakdown response and fault rectification
- Work safely under lone working procedures
- Assist Operations Engineers with servicing and maintenance activities
- Ensure compliance with company HSQE procedures

Skills & Experience Required
- Mechanical or electrical maintenance background
- Experience working on industrial plant, utilities, process plant, CHP, generators, water treatment, manufacturing, or similar environments
- Basic fault-finding and maintenance skills
- Comfortable working independently
- Computer literate
- Good Health & Safety awareness
- Full UK driving licence and own transport
Experience working with power generation equipment, reciprocating engines, CHP, generators, solar, or gas processing plant would be advantageous but is not essential.
