In this key position, you will be part of the site paint team and will be responsible for the industrialization of new products related to the paint line. In addition, you will act as the main contact point for all paint-related changes to the running production process, ensuring stable quality, performance, and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead paint process development to achieve the expected quality level in line with OEM specifications
  • Ensure cost targets are met through optimization of paint consumption, scrap rates, and productivity (# parts per rack/mast)
  • Coordinate and technically lead a team of process engineers and robot programmers within the paint line
  • Ensure paint process stability with regard to product and process quality
  • Support the industrialization phase up to serial production readiness (project/APQP logic)
  • Follow up paint process development and ensure conformity of specific painting equipment and tooling (e.g. jigs, fixtures, masking stations)
  • Analyze deviations, define corrective actions, and ensure sustainable implementation
  • Lead and/or actively contribute to productivity, cost reduction, and continuous improvement projects (Lean, Kaizen)
  • Lead paint supplier activities and manage their activities and new materials integration
  • Validate proposed technical solutions in terms of specifications, process robustness, and sustainability
  • Capitalize, standardize, and document validated actions and lessons learned
  • Ensure full compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations

Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree with relevant professional experience or Master’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Process Engineering, or a comparable field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in painting, chemistry, or process engineering within the automotive industry
  • Proven experience working in or contributing to project organizations
  • Strong understanding of industrial painting processes (e.g. wet paint, powder coating, pretreatment)
  • Experience working with OEM requirements and quality standards
  • Structured, autonomous, and solution-oriented working style
  • Strong communication and coordination skills in cross-functional teams
  • Fluent in English

Nice to have:

  • Experience with automation or robot programming
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, APQP, FMEA, or Six Sigma
  • Experience in international project environments
  • Strong affinity for production environments and shopfloor operations
