Role: Site Reliability Engineer
Type: Contract (Inside IR35)
Location: London, UK
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with strong Python development skills to join our client's engineering team in London, UK. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, automation, monitoring, CI/CD, and production support. You will be responsible for improving system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency while working closely with development and DevOps teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and resilient production systems.
- Develop automation tools and operational scripts using Python.
- Monitor application and infrastructure health using modern observability tools.
- Troubleshoot production incidents and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application deployment.
- Improve system reliability through automation, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with software engineering, DevOps, security, and infrastructure teams.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or similar tools.
- Participate in on-call support and incident management.
- Ensure compliance with security, governance, and operational best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5–10 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Production Engineering.
- Strong programming experience in Python.
- Experience with Linux/Unix system administration.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other automation tools.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
- Experience with version control systems (Git).
