My client is looking for an experienced technical leader to drive architecture, engineering excellence, and technical strategy across their platform engineering teams.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role with no line management responsibilities. You'll influence architecture, mentor engineers, and work across multiple teams to deliver scalable, cloud-native platforms.
You'll provide technical leadership across two key areas:
Edge Delivery & Observability (Internal Team)
- Own the technical roadmap and architecture.
- Work hands-on with a team of four engineers.
- Mentor engineers and drive engineering best practice.
- Partner with the Engineering Manager and Product & Technology stakeholders.

API Gateway (External Vendor)
- Provide technical direction and architectural oversight.
- Define technical priorities and review solution delivery.
- Ensure consistency across the platform.
We're interested in experienced Principal Engineers, Staff Engineers, Technical Leads, or Lead Platform Engineers. Candidates with strong technical capability who are not yet at Principal level may also be considered.
Essential Experience
- Designing large-scale distributed systems.
- Architecture and system design.
- Cloud-native platform engineering.
- Edge Delivery, CDNs, and API Gateway technologies.
- Observability and monitoring platforms.
- Kubernetes and modern infrastructure.
- Technical roadmap ownership.
- Cross-team technical leadership and stakeholder management.
- Mentoring and coaching engineers.
