About The Role
This role is key to supporting a key customer by delivering and enhancing network tooling, automation, and lab infrastructure that underpin mission-critical services. Please note you must either hold or be eligible for SC (Security Clearance) to be an eligible candidate for this role.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting the implementation and optimisation of CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Cloud, Git, and container technologies.
- Maintaining and enhancing monitoring tools to maximise system uptime, performance, and reliability, while actively contributing to improvements in Site Reliability Engineering practices and workflows.
- Installing, configuring (including networking), administering, troubleshooting, and managing virtual machines, along with integrating tools via APIs.
- Investigating and resolving technical issues assigned by the Tools Manager, and participating in technical meetings, change advisory boards, and service reviews as needed.
- Creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation - covering processes, procedures, and work instructions - in line with internal standards and quality frameworks.

Essential Skills / Experience
- Hands-on experience with server operating systems, both Windows Server and Linux, plus advanced knowledge of VMware environments (including vCenter); experience with network change implementations supporting incident resolution and project delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to create detailed, consumable documentation for tooling deployments, automation (including CI/CD), recovery, testing, and implementation planning.
- Solid scripting and development skills across a range of technologies including Python, PowerShell, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, XML, REST, SOAP, and experience developing operational procedures, processes, and scripts.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Proven track record of working effectively within ITIL-aligned environments, with hands-on experience using ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow, and a deep understanding of service management best practices.
- A collaborative working style, with experience engaging suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive solutions, service improvements, and successful project outcomes.

Flexible Working
This role offers a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week.
