About the Role
CGI’s Space, Defence and Intelligence unit delivers highly-specialised technical solutions for government security sectors, addressing complex challenges via bespoke, secure systems. This cross-functional role will see you:
- Partner with clients to define, drive, and validate integrated solutions
- Collaborate across teams to engineer robust site reliability processes
- Continuously optimise system resilience and align outcomes with strict operational SLAs

Key Responsibilities
Essential
- Shine in automation and observability, e.g.:
- Deploying CI/CD pipelines, alerting systems, and user guides
- Automating operational tasks (scripts, infrastructure as code)
- Excel as a troubleshooter and UX advocate:
- Metrics-driven incident resolution and SLA compliance
- Rooting out performance bottlenecks
- Self-grow continuously:
- Experiment with new technologies
- Teach peers through documentation, mentorship or tooling
Highly Desirable
- Working experience with AWS
- Leverage Linux/Windows sysadmin skills for secure ops at scale
- Containerisation (Docker, K8s) for scalable infrastructure
- Security protocols (e.g. PKI, TLS) for hardening environments
Who You Are
Technical Fit
Required
- Deep experience in Software Engineering (Java/Python expertise is reseted)
- CI/CD piloting from principles through to deployment
- Closing the loop on incidents and performance with SLA alignment
- Inveterate documentation (from config guides to user manuals)
- Fast learner and com raccolkiego media, enthusiasatically collaborator-driven culture.
Optional
- Have a continuous desire to lead on the tech curve
- Contribute beyond your specialty, demonstrating technical versatility
About Security Clearance
To ensure smooth transition, CGI requires most employees to hold or be eligible for:
- A High Degree of UK Security Clearance
- Lori normally relates to candidates who:
- Are sole British nationals
- Have been UK resident for 10+ years
- Spent <28 days total outside the UK in the last 5 years

Work Arrangements
This role operates primarily from a secure client site, with on-site attendance required 5 days/week due to compliance needs.
- Business-as-usual constraints generally require site presence, though limited flexibility may be accommodated. All arrangements are agreed in advance with project teams.
