SafetyCo is one of Canada’s leading safety training and consulting organizations, with over 25 years of experience supporting more than 60,000 individuals and 2,000 client organizations each year. Our mission is to create safer workplaces through practical training, expert consulting, and a culture built on integrity, accountability, collaboration, and care for people.

We empower workers and leaders to make safer decisions every day — because at SafetyCo, safety isn’t just compliance; it’s about ensuring everyone goes home safe.

About The Role

The Site Safety Officer is a field-based, client-facing role responsible for supporting construction projects through health and safety program implementation, site inspections, hazard mitigation, and compliance oversight.

You will work closely with project teams, contractors, and clients to identify risks, recommend solutions, and foster a strong safety culture on site. This role is ideal for experienced construction safety professionals who thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy problem-solving, and take pride in protecting workers and ensuring compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate health and safety programs and strategies for construction projects
  • Conduct detailed site inspections, identify hazards, and provide professional, actionable inspection reports
  • Lead safety orientations and verify workers meet current training requirements
  • Participate in pre-construction and pre-project meetings, providing input and recommendations for environmental, health, and safety procedures
  • Communicate and collaborate with clients or client-contractor site supervisors to eliminate or mitigate workplace hazards
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, such as the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development, regarding legal notices or inspections
  • Prepare incident, near-miss, and accident investigation reports
  • Complete client and contractor orientation training programs as required
  • Attend and actively participate in assigned health and safety trainings
  • Wear assigned clothing and personal protective equipment
  • Report any incidents, injuries, illnesses, or client hazards to your supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support safety and project outcomes

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
