Job Description:

Site Security Supervisor – Northampton

Shift patterns: 4 on, 4 off – 18:30-07:00

Location: Northampton

Salary: £13.71 per hour

Summary:

The primary purpose of the role is to serve as a crucial and effective interface between the client and the Security Company, ensuring the seamless execution of all security operations. The Security Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a high standard of safety and security by implementing Company Policies and Procedures at all times.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Collaborate with the contract manager to plan, organize, and manage site operational activities to ensure smooth and efficient security operations.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure Health and Safety Risk assessments are relevant and updated for each site at all times. Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety and Quality Policies, completing and submitting all necessary documentation and reports promptly.
  • Security Assessments and Equipment: Assist in the preparation and regular updating of site security assessments. Ensure that site personnel are equipped with appropriate uniforms and Personal Safety Equipment, identifying and addressing any shortfalls immediately. Ensure that site-specific security equipment is available and maintained in good working order at all times.
  • Site Instructions and Standards: Review and update site assignment instructions to ensure they are current and relevant. Monitor and evaluate security standards for each site, ensuring they meet or exceed client and company expectations.
  • Staff Recruitment and Development: Recruit, train, develop, and motivate on-site security staff, ensuring they are well-prepared to perform their duties effectively. Ensure that all site security personnel are correctly accredited and licensed in accordance with SIA regulations. Monitor staff welfare and address any concerns promptly.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Ensure site-specific staff are aware of and comply with the client’s evacuation, fire, bomb scare, and other emergency procedures. Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure readiness.
  • Administrative Duties: Assist in the administration of the contract, including maintaining staff attendance records, managing employee relations, and handling accident reporting, grievances, and disciplinary procedures. Prepare duty rosters well in advance and ensure staff receive early notification of their scheduled duties. Approve and sign off proposed rotas and identify excessive working practices.
  • Investigations and Compliance: Instigate and investigate alleged disciplinary offenses in accordance with company policies. Identify and develop safer and more efficient working practices. Attend training courses and meetings as requested.
  • Client and Management Liaison: Maintain regular contact with your line manager, bringing to their attention areas for additional business with existing or potential clients. Ensure all files are current and up to date.
  • Miscellaneous: Respond to any other reasonable requests from management, ensuring the overall effectiveness and efficiency of security operations.

Essential Requirements For The Job:

  • Valid SIA Licence
  • Proficient in written and oral communication in English.
  • Competent IT and keyboard skills.
  • Demonstrated capability in understanding and sensitive management.
  • Strong personnel management skills.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality services to clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with an aptitude for analysing ongoing situations.
