Lead critical engineering services that keep a high-performing food manufacturing site running safely and efficiently.
The Role
Our new Site Services Engineering Team Leader will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliable operation of all site services, supporting production by maintaining critical plant, utilities and facilities to the highest standards. Leading a team of eight engineers on shift, you will ensure equipment availability, drive preventative maintenance, and help create an environment where high-quality food products can be manufactured safely and efficiently.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineering Team Leader, looking to take ownership of a busy site services function. Working a 4 on, 4 off day shift (5:30am – 5:30pm), you'll combine hands-on engineering expertise with people leadership, planning and continuous improvement to keep the site operating at its best.
Your Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the site services engineering function by combining technical expertise with strong team leadership. Responsibilities include:
- Lead, support and coordinate a team of eight Site Services Engineers during each shift.
- Ensure all site services, utilities and facilities operate safely and reliably to support production.
- Plan, monitor and manage preventative maintenance using the CMMS system.
- Allocate workloads, monitor progress and respond effectively to engineering priorities and breakdowns.
- Drive improvements in energy efficiency and identify opportunities to reduce utility costs.
- Support the maintenance of refrigeration, boilers and other critical site services equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety and food manufacturing standards.
- Act as the first point of leadership for the engineering team, supporting operational decision making and maintaining effective communication across departments.

The Ideal Candidate
You Will Be An Experienced Engineering Professional Who Enjoys Leading People, Solving Problems And Maintaining High Operational Standards. You'll Also Have
- Previous experience supervising or leading an engineering team within manufacturing.
- Electrical qualifications, ideally including 18th Edition.
- Mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial environment.
- Experience using CMMS systems for maintenance planning (Pirana or similar).
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage changing priorities.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across the business.
- The ability to work safely and promote a strong safety culture.
Desirable Experience
- Working knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems.
- Experience with industrial boilers.
- IOSH qualification (or willingness to achieve this).
