Site Maintenance & Engineering Technician
About the Role
You will deliver world-class maintenance and engineering at our Kettering site by providing integral training and upskilling to employees.
Under this role, you will:
- Complete further education externally to qualify NVQ Level 3 in either Mechanical or Electrical Principles.
- Pair with our qualified engineering team for hands-on, on-the-job training.
- Work across three key areas: Utilities, Waste Water Treatment Plant, and General Site Services.
Key Responsibilities
Utilities
- Maintenance & servicing of:
- Air compressors
- Refrigeration units
- Boilers
- Cooling towers
- Air handling units
- Water treatment plant (and beyond)
Waste Water Treatment Plant
- Maintenance & diagnostics of MBR (Membrane Bioreactor) plant and water reuse systems.
- Support for external suppliers managing plant operations.
- Laboratory analysis, chemical stock reviews, and coordinating waste sludge disposal.
General Site Services & Utilities
- repairs and preventative maintenance under MPS schedules (Meeting Plant Standards).
- Domestic network, heating, and crisis-fire response testing (alarm systems).

Utilities
- Operational checks & safety compliance:
- daily meter readings & liaison with utility suppliers
- bi-weekly boiler & chiller operations with BOAS charter adherence
- compliance & legionella controls
- technical integrity:
- accurate reporting & timely repairs
- maintenance logs & corrective action processes

Key Performance Indicators: ✔ Accuracy & completeness of all inspections ✔ Repair correctness and alignment with maintenance schedules
Waste Water Treatment Plant
- Daily support tasks:
- laboratory analyses ensuring compliance with treatment targets
- chemical stock replenishment and waste sludge outsourcing
- Contractor liaison:
- Contractor support coordination for plant reliability
- technical reading & manual referencing
Key Performance Indicators: ✔ Quality of maintenance & repairs ✔ Contractor & internal team satisfaction levels
General Site Services
- ** menége VIPM &
- weekly/monthly/quarterly PPM (Preventative, Predictive, Preventative Maintenance)
- fault diagnosis and responses under site process safety
- routine testing:
- fire alarm systems (checks + logs)
- fire safety inspections (monthly sprinkler tests)
- water temp compliance checks
Key Performance Indicators: ✔ Repair speed & diagnostics speed (timeliness & efficiency) ✔ Customer satisfaction (internal team feedback) ✔ Timely escalation to professional disciplines as needed
Qualifications & Experience
** INDUSTRIAL & TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS**
- NVQ Level 3 Knowledge Base (Mechanical/ Electrical Principles; upskilling provided)
- Desirable experience in:
- High-pressure boilers (operating at 15 bar)
- Steam systems
- Water treatment systems & MBR plant innovations
- Refrigeration best practices

- At least 3 years in equivalent maintenance services environment
** SAS & SCHOOLS AND HEALTHFOUND PRINCIPLES**
- Own initiative: Maintain team stability during disruptions
- evidence-based approach: Communicate issues clearly and prioritise urgently
- operational awareness: Vehicle safety responsibilities (e.g. forklift licensing preferred).
LICENSE & WORKING Conditions
- Forklift Licensing (mandatory desired)
- **Remote work Pierce (of peers/failure route) under a need to resulting unbalance and high calliness heavy reliance on PPE legislation. Compliance.
- Typical conditions met hourly and regularly for health regulating authorities.
