Site Supervisor – Water Sector (Northern Ireland) – Networks & Drainage Solutions
Overview
AtkinsRéalis is one of the world's most respected design, engineering, and project management consultancies, delivering infrastructure solutions on the most complex and time-sensitive projects globally. Following a successful launch of the current Water Industry investment cycle, our Infrastructure division in Northern Ireland is seeking experienced site supervisors to join our dedicated Water Sector team.
The position falls within our Networks and Drainage Solutions Practice and is ideal for engineers or site supervisors with experience in NEC-compliant supervisor/Clerk of Works roles. The role may also include supporting NEC Project Managers (PMs) to deliver construction projects under the NEC suite of contracts.
The Role
We thrive in an agile and innovation-driven environment, meaning your contributions matter. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring work safety compliance with:
- Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations
- Health and Safety (H&S) policies
- Contractor Risk Assessments (CRAs)
- Method Statements
- Overseeing quality assurance (QA) and quality management (QM) throughout construction to meet:
- Contract Drawings and Specifications
- Northern Ireland Water (NIW) Asset Standards
- Environmental and legislative requirements
- Health & Safety Legislation
- Reporting non-compliance issues to the APM (Associate Project Manager) promptly.
- Maintaining essential documentation, including:
- Daily Record sheets
- Progress measurements
- Photographic records
- Reviewing contractor warnings against site records/activities to help assess Construction Engagement (CE) reports for PMs.
- Monitoring work progress against the approved programme.
- Representing our firm and liaising with:
- Third-party stakeholders
- Client contacts
- The general public, if required.

About You
Essential
- A qualification and/or extensive experience in the construction sector that aligns with the role.
- Appropriate Health & Safety qualifications, such as:
- Valid CSCS card (or equivalent such asabliT award).
- A proactive commitment to maintaining health and safety standards.
- A full UK driving licence (mandatory for site visits).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Desirable
- Degree-level education with a civil engineering bias.
- EUSR Water Hygiene Qualification.
- Professional recognition as a Chartered (CEng) or Incorporated (IEng) engineer with a recognised institution.
- Proven experience in the water industry, or related sectors such as:
- Energy
- Maritime
- Geotechnical
- Industrial civil engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills appropriate for:
- Engaging with technical/multidisciplinary teams.
- Collaborating with non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with NEC-based project management.
- Previous work on UK Water industry frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver projects through collaborative teamwork.
