Senior Site Supervisor (SSSTS) – Water & Infrastructure (South Coast)
About the Role
Here at [organisation name], we specialise in sustainable water asset management solutions, delivering exceptional value outcomes in potable water, wastewater, and environmental sustainability. We’re currently looking for a responsible, hardworking, and safety-conscious SSSTS-certified Site Supervisor to join our team and lead our operations on clean water sites across the south coast.
£17.33 per hour + opportunities for overtime pay
Your responsibilities will require strong team leadership, site organisation, and a rigorous commitment to health and safety. Travel and overnight work will be a part of the role.
What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget, and with the highest quality standards. Key duties include:

Preparing and supervising sites:
- Leading the setup of projects, including unloading and securely storing materials, plant, and Machinery
- Ensuring accessibility, cleanliness, and proper organisation of the working environment

Safety and compliance:
- Reviewing project documentation (risks, methods, permits) before site commencement to confirm they are accurate, compliant, and suitable
- Ensuring **all team members have the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) for the project
- Identifying defects in tools, plant, and equipment before work starts and reporting to the Project/ Site Coordinator

Task and team management:
- Delegating tasks efficiently to meet project timelines and optimise workflow
- Maintaining open communication with the Project/ Site Coordinator and Project Manager to ensure progress is aligned
- Supervising welfare facilities and ensuring their appropriate and regular use

Safety and site standards:
- Maintaining a safe, tidy, and orderly work environment at all times, with full PPE enforcement
- Conducting Site Inductions, Tool Box Talks, and safety briefings as required
- Overseeing the secure storage of machinery and materials, including the timely return or hire release of plant and equipment

Progress updates:
- Routinely reviewing Project/ Site Coordinator, Project Manager reports, forecasts, and progress updates to ensure manpower allocation and schedule adherence
Who We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have:
Qualifications & Certifications
Check at least two from this list – we’ll support you in obtaining any missing credentials:
- Actively working towards (or already holding) a CSCS Blue Card
- Preference for an Emergency First Response/EUSR Water Hygiene Card (or a willingness to obtain one)
- Completed a Confined Spaces training course (or commitment to gaining certification)
- SSSTS qualification (or willingness to obtain)
Work Experience & Attributes
- Proven on-site supervisory experience (or the ability to act as a recent graduate/up-and-coming leader)
- Proven ability to lead a small team, as well as work independently with initiative
- Self-motivated and able to operate with minimal supervision, handling deliverables efficiently
- Confidence in working at heights and/or in confined spaces safely, with hands-on experience (if not trained, be open to completing relevant training early in the role)
- Exceptional awareness of Health & Safety best practices – proactive in reporting risks and hazards
- Flexibility to travel and work overnight/weekend as needed for the demands of project sites
