Site Supervisor – NHS Maintenance (Blackberry Hill Hospital, Bristol)
About the Role
Rydon Maintenance Ltd, part of the expanding Rydon Group, is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to join its highly regarded NHS maintenance team at Blackberry Hill Hospital in Bristol.

Job Purpose
As Site Supervisor at Blackberry Hill Hospital, your primary responsibility is ensuring all maintenance works are completed to the highest standards per Rydon’s quality assurance policies.
This role blends hands-on site maintenance duties with supervisory responsibilities, including:
- Performing daily on-site repairs under the responsive repairs and PPM (planned and preventative maintenance) program.
- Acting as the main point of contact for external Sub-Contractors, organising planned maintenance visits and managing their appointments.
- Ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations on-site, maintaining updated records, and conducting inspections to verify works meet quality, time, and safety standards.
- Liaising with facility managers, engineers, and operatives, overseeing site operations, and ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additional opportunities via an on-call rota system, offering earnings flexibility for urgent repairs.

Responsibilities
Core Duties:
- Ensure high-quality service delivery for the NHS client’s maintenance needs.
- Oversee PPM programs and responsive repairs, prioritising tasks efficiently.
- Coordinate with external contractors, managing schedules for invasive work.
- Health and safety oversight, daily risk assessments, and site compliance.
- Maintain detailed records (auditable documentation, reports, faults logs).
- Assist in inspections to verify repair quality meets standards.
- Coordinate with production staff, site managers, and ancillary services.
- Maintain ISO 9001 compliance, lead root cause investigations, and implement change.
- Uphold food safety requirements (HACCP/Pasteurised Milk schemes per resident requirements).
- Environmental Health Protection routines.
- Claiming and managing costs against charging standards to mitigate losses.
- Assist with budget adherence, requesting additional funds if needed.
- Support government metrics (e.g. performance monitoring for NHSE).
- Work in accordance with company policies, BS8557/BS5589/IS0-9001/1400 standards.

Experience Required
Essential:
- Proven experience in a multi-skilled or trade role, ideally in NHS or similar commercial environments (e.g. schools, prisons, retail).
- Demonstrable hands-on technical aptitude in plasters, power tools, door/joinery, kitchen facilities.
- Minimum 2 years’ work history in a supervisory or technical role.
- Understanding of Microsoft software (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong people management and communication abilities.
Desirable:
- Experience within the NHS maintenance sector (evaluated on-case formulation).
- Understanding of NHS maintenance priorities and government frameworks.
- Knowledge of high-pressure environments (during peak periods).
- Experience working in a hello-luke employee culture environment.
