THE TEAM

You’ll be joining the Power Operations team at JSM Group, where we specialise in delivering high-quality power network services to major clients. Our team is passionate about safety, operational excellence, and providing innovative solutions. As part of this collaborative team, you’ll play a vital role in managing site-level operations, ensuring compliance with safety policies, and driving project success.

SCOPE OF THE ROLE

As a Site Supervisor, you will oversee day-to-day operations at site level on specifically assigned activities and work streams associated with the contract. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and economic use of resources, materials, transport, plant, and equipment while maintaining compliance with company policies, client specifications, and industry standards. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered incident-free, on time, and within budget.

HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED

  • Ensure the necessary plant, equipment, and materials are available for teams to carry out works safely and efficiently.
  • Manage the delivery of materials and equipment to the site in a timely and coordinated manner.
  • Maintain clean, organised, and safe sites that meet all regulatory and client standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Local Authority Permit Conditions and other regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee accurate documentation and reporting of site activities and any incidents.
  • Promote and implement safety and environmental policies, ensuring that all employees on-site are trained in emergency awareness and procedures.
  • Participate in the delivery of Site Safety Briefings, Alerts, Memos, and Toolbox Talks.
  • Monitor and ensure that Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMs) are briefed, understood, and adhered to on-site.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and ensure Site-Specific Risk Assessments are reviewed and signed off for every visit.
  • Ensure that site plans, electrical schematics, or utility drawings are current and accessible, conducting site checks as required.
  • Provide operational and technical support to team leaders and operatives.
  • Submit Employee Timesheets, Labour, Plant & Transport Return Sheets accurately and on time.
  • Identify opportunities for introducing new innovations and industry products.
  • Manage communication with other companies and stakeholders within the same site to maintain smooth operations.
  • Continuously build and maintain strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders, ensuring client satisfaction.

WHAT IT TAKES

Essential

  • Leadership & Management: Ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Technical Competency: Strong knowledge of electrical or power network operations, with experience managing compliance with safety standards, permits, and RAMs.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Ability to assess situations quickly and provide practical solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Organisational Expertise: Excellent time management and organisational skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Flexibility & Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and provide solutions as needed.
  • Safety & Compliance Awareness: A strong understanding of policies and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Customer engagement experience is essential.

Desirable

  • Supervisors' Accreditation or equivalent in power or electrical network operations.
  • Appreciation of construction or site-based electrical works.
