What's the role?

As the site support advisor your role plays a key part in ensuring SMS Smart products are commissioned and functioning Smart assets by supporting our engineer network and carrying out remote activities. Helping SMS deliver our Smart products, the role is at the heart of delivering our customer experience to end consumers.

The job is key to ensuring that SMS Smart assets are fully functioning, supplying our customers with fully operational Smart technology whilst reducing the risk of removal and unnecessary site visits.

You will report into one of our Site Support Team Leaders and will involve liaising with internal colleagues across multiple departments as well as speaking to end consumers and SMS partners such as Energy Suppliers.

This is a great opportunity for you to work in a developing, agile team working with green technologies, contributing to SMS NetZero targets.

This role is offered on a permanent contract. You will be working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm. Training will be 1 -2 weeks in our Doncaster Office. Please note that interviews will be held in person at our Doncaster Office.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the SMS field workforce in commissioning Smart meter equipment over the phone and digitally.
  • Provide best advice to engineers based on knowledge-based tools and materials.
  • Remotely commission Smart products during and post installation.
  • Working exception reports to resolve issues and avoid unnecessary site visits.
  • Speaking to end consumers to remotely commission smart meter equipment.
  • Liaising with Energy Suppliers to escalate and resolve issues.
  • Work closely with site support advisors and team leaders to share best practice.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Any other duties as required.

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Utilities and SMETS2 Smart metering experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Confident communicating over the phone or electronically
  • An ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
  • Natural ability to problem solve, react, and resolve issues.
