What will you do?
The on-site Site Technical Manager (STM) is responsible for the successful technical delivery of Building Management System (BMS) projects from design through installation, commissioning, and turnover. The STM serves as the technical leader for project deployment and field execution, coordinating engineering, construction, commissioning, and contractor activities to ensure safe, high-quality, and on-time project execution. Working closely with Project Managers, customers, contractors, commissioning teams, and engineering resources, the STM translates project requirements into executable plans and drives delivery throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, field leadership, project coordination, and customer-facing communication skills.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical delivery of BMS projects through design, installation, commissioning, and turnover by directing engineers, contractors, vendors, and site teams to achieve project objectives safely, efficiently, and on schedule
- Project deliverables include PLC control panels, control narratives, I/O point lists, SCADA systems, PLC programs, test scripts
- Review control system drawings, schematics, specifications and vendor submittals
- Help develop scope and schedules for project delivery – together with PM & planning team
- Proactively identify and avoid scope deviations and schedule risks
- Support bench and factory witness testing
- Serve as primary technical authority on-site for contractors, vendors, commissioning teams, and other stakeholders (initially in Santa Teresa, NM, followed by heavy travel to other sites)
- Oversee on-site commissioning, startup, troubleshooting and turnover activities, stepping in where needed to redirect
- Drive resolution of technical, installation, and commissioning issues
- Manage ongoing punch lists, complete checkout lists
- Work with platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk ACC/BIM360, CX Alloy, Microsoft Office & more
What are the key skills we are looking for?
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related technical field
- Understanding of HVAC & EPMS systems including ability to analyze and understand control system drawings, specifications and schematics
- Field/On-site/Commissioning experience
- Familiarity with IoT communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet
- Ability to work independently and remain focused in a fast-paced environment (initiative, independence, accountability, organizational and time management skills)
- Ability to guide & influence cross-functional teams (leadership, interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills)
- Ability to identify, document and resolve issues (Troubleshooting & problem-solving skills, attention to detail)
- Open to accommodate domestic (and potentially international) travel
- Site safety understanding and adherence (have or able to acquire OSHA certification)

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 101,600 - USD 152,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
