Site Technician – FM Segment at BAM UK & Ireland
Location: Tudor Grange Kingshurst Academy, Birmingham Hours: 16 per week (40 weeks per year) Rate: £13.50 per hour
About the Role
BAM UK & Ireland is seeking a Site Technician to join our FM (Facilities Management) team, providing essential maintenance support to Tudor Grange Kingshurst Academy.
You’ll be part of a well-supported team where proactive maintenance, problem-solving, and a multi-skilled approach are key. The role blends traditional facilities duties with technical responsibilities, ensuring smoothday-to-day operations and resilience in our healthcare/family-friendly environment.
Salary: £13.50 per hour

Principle Accountabilities
Core Responsibilities
- Respond to daily requests/enquiries from Authority representatives, building users, and internal staff.
- Perform proactive maintenance and porterage duties across the school site.
- Deliver customer satisfaction through prompt issue resolution.
- Develop and manage ongoing and routine maintenance programs, including:
- Conducting planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Adhering to BAM FM’s HR, Health & Safety (H&S), Quality, and Environmental policies
- Provide written documentation to support purchasing of spares/consumables via the helpdesk.
- Oversee safe storage of spare parts, tools, and materials.

Technical & Tenant Support
- Support BMS (Building Management System) usage and generate monthly reports.
- Offer deal with technical queries requested by colleagues.
- Ensure self-reported maintenance issues are logged promptly.
Safety & Emergencies
- Conduct risk/method statements as required.
- Adhere to H&S standards, including operating safely around external contractors.
- Oversee emergency access to school premises and provide out-of-hours maintenance cover.
Generally Duties
- Daily room set-ups and porterage requests.
- Any additional tasks as allocated by a manager or senior member of team.

What We Look for in You
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience working to high standards in one or more technical trades.
- Full UK driving licence (essential for school-based commutes|
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving.
- Self-motivation and ability to meet deadlines.
- Sound IT skills for software/log documentation tools.
Advantageous (but not mandatory)
- Previous experience in educational institutions or living environments.
