Site Technician
Location: Hilcote, Derbyshire
The Role
Radius Subterra is seeking a field-based Site Technician to carry out one-off installations and project work across water and gas networks, working on both polyethylene and metallic systems. The role involves supporting the safe installation, testing, and commissioning of new and live utility connections, while ensuring all work meets industry legislation and Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
- Working closely with colleagues, operatives, and contractors
- Supporting project planning and delivery
- Contributing to RAMS
- Helping introduce new techniques on site
This is a hands-on role requiring a flexible, proactive approach, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safe, high-quality work in varied site environments.
The Candidate
- NCO Level 2 qualified, safety-focused Site Technician
- Mechanical engineering background (minimum NVQ Level 1)
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Relevant industry certifications such as NRSWA, CSCS, Utility SHEA (Gas and Water), EUSR Water Hygiene, and First Aid
- Strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements when working on sites and public highways
- Full driving license and confidence to use initiative when appropriate

Desirable Experience:
- Experience within the utilities sector, particularly with knowledge of polyethylene and metallic gas and water systems
- Additional skills such as excavator operation, lifting activities, winch operation, pipeline commissioning, or slinger/signaller duties
