Tax Process Reinvention & Agentic AI Six Sigma Black Belt – EY Global Tax Centre of Excellence

At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.

We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go.

Join EY and help to build a better working world.

The Opportunity

EY’s Global Tax Centre of Excellence Data & AI team plays a pivotal role in leading client transformation initiatives that leverage Data & AI as core capabilities. The Centre of Excellence (CoE) seeks to architect reusable patterns and process blueprints to accelerate scalability across all EY Tax technology teams globally.

You’ll have the opportunity to stay at the forefront of technology development and contribute to the successful transformation of EY Tax and its clients.

Role Purpose

The Six Sigma Black Belt holds a foundational position within the Tax Process Reinvention & Agentic AI CoE.

The role is responsible for:

  • Deep task-level decomposition of tax processes and data flows.
  • Identification and quantification of inefficiencies (waste) to redesign lean, AI-optimised workflows.
  • Ensuring agentic AI is applied effectively—improving the right work, in the right way, at the right time—rather than being overlaid onto broken processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Process Decomposition & Lean Analysis

  • Lead Lean Six Sigma DMAIC reviews across key Tax service lines (CIT, PAS, Indirect Tax, Transfer Pricing, Withholding Tax).
  • Break down end-to-end tax processes to an atomic task level, defining:
    • Inputs and outputs.
    • Decision points.
    • Hand-offs between teams.
    • Exception paths and escalation flows.
  • Produce Value Stream Maps (As-Is and To-Be) with quantified metrics:
    • Cycle time.
    • Lead time.
    • Takt time.
    • Capacity utilisation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
