Skilled Butcher
Senior Butcher / Butchery Team Leader
About the Role
Flexible working hours – Any 5 out of 7 days, including weekends
We are looking for a commercial Butcher with a strong can-do attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. In this role, you’ll be responsible for engaging with customers, preparing high-quality orders, and upholding the highest standards of health & safety.
Responsibilities
- Engage with customers, building strong relationships to understand and meet their unique business and product needs.
- Prepare and deliver orders precisely according to customer specifications.
- Maintain strict compliance with health & safety and legal standards at all times.
- Ensure meticulous stock control, including product rotation, quality checks, and waste reduction.
- Train and support team members on butchery techniques, hygiene, and customer service best practices.
- Work flexibly across any 5 days of the week, including weekends, to ensure operational continuity.
Requirements
- Proven experience within the butchery trade, including:
- Strong product knowledge (meat grades, cuts, seasoning, and preparation).
- Exceptional cutting and preparation skills (e.g., dry aging, marinating, vacuum packing).
- Customer service excellence, with the ability to communicate effectively and build lasting relationships.
- Organisational and attention-to-detail skills, with experience in stock control processes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Team leadership experience (a plus) to mentor junior staff and support team goals.
- Must be flexible and reliable, with no fixed start/end times—Pick any 5 out of 7 days to work, including weekends.
