About the Role
Kepak is one of Europe’s leading food producers. We are seeking experienced Butchers who are passionate about career progression and eager to join our growing Beef Boning Department at KEPAK Bodmin.
The Bodmin site currently seeks motivated and enthusiastic individuals to strengthen our friendly and skilled team. As a company, we take pride in our heritage of meat craft and trusted quality, while fostering sustainability, animal welfare, and strong community ties. Our 15 manufacturing plants across the UK and Ireland produce innovative, high-quality food, committed to community, nature, and people.
Responsibilities
- Use knives and equipment to prepare and process meat according to production specifications
- Cut and trim meat to the highest standards of quality and safety
- Maintain a clean work area and adhere to all safety regulations and procedures
- Meet production goals and work collaboratively to ensure timely task completion
- Store and handle meat properly to prevent waste and spoilage
- Continually learn and improve knife skills and meat-processing techniques

Key operational tasks include:
- Performing boning, butchering, trimming, and finishing tasks at line speed
- Following Lean Manufacturing processes
- Completing tasks on time to meet daily targets
- Ensuring product quality and reporting issues to the Line Supervisor immediately
- Setting up the production line, running mandatory pre-start checks, and ensuring hygiene & safety
- Complying with knife safety, health and safety rules, including hygiene standards
- Reporting accidents or near misses per company protocol
- Finishing products to specification and storing tools securely
General duties as required by management, within your competency level.
Role Details & Conditions
Hours & Contract:
- Day shift, 06:00–end of production (Monday–Friday)
- 45-hour week (full-time) with standard time-and-a-quarter pay for overtime
- 2 x 30-minute breaks per day
- No weekends working

- Starting rate: £15.83 per hour, subject to progression with experience and training
