Hydrosave is a leading specialist pipeline inspection, leak detection, valve maintenance, and water audit company. The business is dedicated to finding new ways to optimise the efficient use, maintenance, and management of water networks.
Hydrosave works as a tier one framework supplier to UK water utilities and as a trusted partner to consultants, contractors, and commercial water customers. Focusing purely on underground infrastructure, innovation, and specialist expertise is the focus: our people are water industry experts with unparalleled experience and in-depth knowledge of their technical disciplines.
The Role
As a Leakage Detection Technician, you’ll play a vital part in identifying and reducing water loss across the network. This is a hands-on, field-based position where no two days are the same — you could be pinpointing complex leaks, quantifying leakage, or attending dry holes to validate previous findings.
You’ll be part of a high-performing team that works with precision, pride, and purpose — knowing your efforts directly improve water efficiency, customer satisfaction, and sustainability.
You’ll also have opportunities to earn weekend overtime, and we aim to be as flexible as possible to support a healthy work-life balance.
What You'll Do
- Carry out leakage detection and advanced survey work using specialist equipment and proven techniques.
- Plan and execute efficient leakage survey campaigns in line with the Leakage Operating Model.
- Conduct quantifications and dry hole attendance to verify and report on leakage findings.
- Use your technical knowledge and deductive thinking to pinpoint complex leaks accurately.
- Complete all work safely and in compliance with Health & Safety, NRSWA, and environmental standards.
- Deliver first-class customer service, ensuring all interactions reflect our Right First-Time approach.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe working practices for yourself and others on site.
- Support colleagues, share knowledge, and represent Hydrosave UK Ltd with professionalism and pride.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
