Skilled Operative - Bridgwater
Skilled Operatives – Civil Engineering Roles
Location: Bridgwater (South Western area, with occasional travel)
We’re looking for skilled operatives to join our multi-disciplinary team at CML, a fast-growing business in the civil engineering sector.
About the Role
You will play a vital part in our operations across the UK, working across diverse civil engineering projects. CML prides itself on safety, innovation, professional development, and exceptional service delivery.
This role requires manual labour, technical competence, and strong teamwork abilities. Experienced operatives with specialist qualifications will have a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow safety procedures and instructions in accordance with company policy.
- Operate tools, equipment, and machinery safely and correctly.
- Work under direction from the Site Supervisor/General Foreman.
- Operate to competency levels achieved through training and prior experience.
- Perform manual tasks, including loading/unloading vehicles, digging, lifting, and pulling as required.
- Maintain and use provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ensure all vehicles, materials, and equipment under your control are safe, properly used, cleaned, stored, and disposed of.
- Report defects or safety concerns to the Site Supervisor/General Foreman/Safety Advisor.
- Mentor junior operatives and those with less experience.
- Punctual attendance with the correct tools and equipment.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
You must have proven skills and certification in:
✅ Small Tools ✅ Confined Space Work ✅ CPCS Dumper ✅ CPCS Roller ✅ PTS (Plant Tango Surveyarry?), (Assuming PTS for Plant Theory Schemes) ✅ 360 Excavator
Desirable Additional Skills:
🔹 First Aid Certification 🔹 Competency Operating Safety Systems (COSS)
