Job Description

This is for internal staff only

The Role and About the Person you are looking for:

  • Assist in successfully coordinate the daily tasks of assigned staff or less experienced operatives.
  • Provide timely and effective guidance and support to team members
  • Accurately interpret task tickets and adjust priorities as needed.
  • Act as a supervisor during the absence of the Team Leader
  • Mentor new team members or apprentices
  • Street Cleaning: Sweep, collect, and remove litter and debris.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Perform planting, pruning, and other maintenance tasks.
  • Waste Management: Empty litter bins, segregate recyclables, and report littering issues. Waste to include human & animal faeces, drug related paraphernalia & dead animals.
  • Graffiti and Vandalism Removal: Assist in removal using appropriate tools.
  • Grazing Management: Liaising with graziers, allocating grazing, checking stock, fitting collars, checking fencing and water troughs and answering public questions.
  • Burial Preparation: Marking out, preparing and digging burial plots for burials and cremated internments as required. Topple testing, as directed.
  • Inspections and Minor Repairs: Use mobile devices to report defects.
  • Seasonal Duties: Support winter maintenance and seasonal tasks.
  • Public Interaction: Provide information and assistance to the public, offering a polite and helpful service.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, wear PPE, participate in training, and report hazards, defects and any near misses.

Hours: This is a full-time role, Monday to Thursday 7am to 3.30pm/ Friday 7am to 11.15pm.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £32,597 - £36,363 per annum (City Pay Band 4) pro rata for part time

Location: Cowley Road Depot
