Skilled Technician
HGV Technician – HA01ER – London (Up to £47,840 p.a.)
Salary & Benefits
- Up to £47,840 per annum (equivalent to £22.50 per hour for a 40-hour week)
- Enhanced London weighting allowance
- Additional compensation:
- HGV licence bonus: £0.50 per hour
- Overtime rate: x1.25
- Sundays rate: x2
- Bank holiday working allowance
- Sign-on and retention bonus: £3,000

The Role
As an HGV Technician, you’re critical in maintaining Veolia’s fleet and third-party vehicles—supporting 14,000+ employees and communities across the UK.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain a diverse fleet (HGV, chassis, body repairs) in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards
- Diagnose and fix hydraulic systems, electrical circuits, and pneumatics
- Conduct troubleshooting using advanced diagnostic tools
- Execute HGV MOT inspections (training in Advanced HGV Inspection encouraged; we’ll cover IRTEC licence costs)
- Perform roadside repairs (training provided)
- Safely adhere to Health & Safety regulations, completing required paperwork and time sheets
- Complete additional general vehicle maintenance as defined by your team

Requirements
Essential
- Experience or training equivalent to an NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Qualification (or willingness to study with on-the-job support)
- Understanding of health & safety protocols
- Clean vehicle driving licence preferred (HGV optional; Veolia supports training)
Ongoing Support
- Supplied toolkit: Veolia provides diagnostic equipment and specialised tools
Preferred (Optional Bonus)
- Hold (or be training for) IRTEC/HGV qualification
Skilled mechanics with limited formal qualifications are encouraged—we offer upskilling opportunities from day one!
