Skilled Tractor Driver/Rural Operative

Salary: £28,000 - £37,000 per year + Overtime

Location: Waltham Abbey

Job Type: Full-Time


Experienced Tractor Drivers Only

Please do not apply if you do not have proven experience operating large agricultural tractors. This is not an entry-level position. We are seeking experienced, competent operators who can safely and confidently operate modern agricultural machinery from day one.

Applicants must be able to provide evidence of previous tractor driving experience through employment history, references, qualifications, or relevant certifications.

What You'll Do

  • Operate machinery including JCB Fastracs, Fendt Tractors, Excavators, Dumpers, Telehandlers, Compact Tractors, Chainsaws and Mowers
  • Carry out rural contracting and land-based work to a high standard
  • Maintain machinery and equipment safely and responsibly
  • Work independently and as part of a professional team
  • Deliver quality workmanship and excellent service on every project

Essential Requirements

  • Full, clean UK Driving Licence
  • Minimum 1 year of large agricultural tractor driving experience (required)
  • Must be able to demonstrate and provide evidence of previous tractor driving experience
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
  • Good understanding of health and safety
  • Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual work
  • Ability to work professionally and represent the company positively

Desirable Experience

  • Telehandler ticket
  • 360 Excavator experience
  • Previous rural contracting experience
  • Agricultural, forestry or land-based background

Overtime Opportunities

Overtime is available throughout the year and provides an excellent opportunity to increase annual earnings.

Based on approximately 500 overtime hours annually, employees can typically earn an additional £8,500 - £10,000 per year, with some team members exceeding this (highest recorded in 2024: 572 overtime hours).
