Reporting to the Cell Leader in Component Repair weld shop.
The ability to weld and braze precision aircraft engine components for engine overhaul, assembly, and test. Work unsupervised while maintaining a safe working environment and producing high quality components.
Responsibilities
Carry out TIG welding of aircraft engine components to fine tolerance limits. Knowledge of brazing procedures. Perform a level of mechanical fitting functions. Familiar with engineering drawings and OEM technical manuals. Use of measuring equipment and be able to inspect engine components. Precise attention to detail and a high level of concentration. Good manual dexterity. PC work including working with OEM manuals.
Qualifications/Requirements
Time served welder with apprenticeship/qualification essential. Experience of working in a welding workshop environment. Knowledge or understanding of Local Heat Treat processes would be beneficial, although not essential.
Desired Characteristics
All duties shall be performed in a safe manner in accordance with GE EH&S policy and procedures. All staff are expected to follow company Quality procedures and to comply with aero industry standards. All staff are expected to display a mature and positive attitude. All staff are expected to carry out any other tasks as may be reasonably requested by supervisor/management.
