"Weekend Performance Host" at SEA LIFE London
About the Role
We’re seeking a dynamic and passionate Actor / Presenter for an exclusive weekend-only role at SEA LIFE London, where your energy, entertainment, and educational prowess will inspire guests of all ages.
As the ambassador for our marine animales and attractions, you’ll craft engaging talks and immersive presentations – both indoors and out – to spark curiosity and foster a lifelong love for ocean conservation. You’ll perform in-role, entertaine audiences, and elevate every visitor’s experience with bold, alluring storytelling.
In this fulfilling 8-month fixed-term contract, you’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing our staff’s guest experiences while contributing behind the scenes — from assisting with aquarist tasks to delivering unique one-to-one tours and character performances. Costumes are a key part of the role, helping bring our underwater world to life in unforgettable ways.
Hours & Contract Type
- Minimum commitment: 10 hours per weekend, ad-hoc availability for peak holiday shifts.
- Contract terms: Fixed term, 8 months.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver educational and entertaining tales of marine life, acting as SEA LIFE London’s face:
- Engage audiences via scripted shows, live character portrayals, and playful interactions (such as interactive RC talks).
- Conduct uniquely immersive experiences:
- Supervise our Rockpool Zone.
- Lead behind-the-scenes tours.
- Host site-specific shows and personalised one-to-one encounters.
- Support the Aquarist team with:
- Feeding assistance.
- Water testing.
- Mini culinary flavors (light food preparation).
- Collaborate with staff to build memorable, informative experiences for every guest, ensuring knowledge retention and satisfaction.

Must-Have Requirements
- Strong performing background, showcasing versatility and on-stage presence.
- Infectious energy -- stamina to remain vibrant, engaging, and welcoming throughout sessions.
- Genuine enthusiasm for marine science and real-world conservation efforts.
- Quick learner: Comfortable mimicking complex scripts and taking direction under low scaffolding.
- ** maîtresse authenticity** and relatability when performing outdoor/character portrayals (including animated costumes).
- Empathy and creativity: Bringing out the "wow!" factor for diverse guest demographics, including families with young children.
- Service-oriented mindset: Willingness to exceed guest expectations consistently within a people-first culture.
Nice-To-Have Qualities (Not Mandatory)
- Background in education, marine biology, orwirtschaft preferred but not required.
- Robust social media voice or previous roles interacting with large public audiences.
- Past experience with supervising programs, handling equipment, or managing service teams.

- Hourly rate: GBP £14.04 per hour.
