Small Works Manager

Department: Service – Delivery

Location: London Compensation: £80,000 - £95,000 per year

Harmony is hiring a Small Works Manager to take full ownership of small works activity within our Service division. This newly created role bridges a critical gap, requiring someone to:

  • Manage the entire delivery lifecycle of small works
  • Serve as Harmony’s primary client advocate on-site
  • Identify commercial opportunities arising from fieldwork

This isn’t just about delivery—it’s about bring energy, commercial expertise, and bold ownership to a fast-growing function. Your challenge will be ensuring every small works project lands on time, on budget, and to the high standard our clients demand.


Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Management: Oversee planning, coordination, and delivery of small works across the Service division, owning programmes from instruction through to completion.
  • Client-Facing Leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients—attending sites, building relationships, and representing Harmony professionally.
  • Oportunity Spotlighting: Identify and escalate commercial pipeline opportunities from site visits and client interactions.
  • Financial Stewardship: Hold full accountability for financial performance, tracking costs, margins, and variations while ensuring jobs stay within scope.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to health/safety regulations, including method statements, risk assessments, and safety frameworks.
  • Cross-Team Coordination: Collaborate with scheduling, engineering, and service admin teams to align resources, manage workloads, and keep projects on track.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide regular updates on programme status, financials, quality, and customer satisfaction to senior stakeholders.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously improve small works delivery and advocate for smarter workflows across the team.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Essential:

  • Enumerator Mindset: Embody quality, extreme ownership, and a first-time-right ethos.
  • Field Delivery Track Record: Proven experience managing small works, reactive engineering, or client-focused delivery, with accountability for programme, cost, and quality.
  • Commercial Instincts: Ability to track budgets, control margins, and capitalise on revenue opportunities.
  • Confident Client Relations: Strong people skills—comfortable Covid interactions with clients, contractors, and senior stakeholders.
  • Safety Proficiency: Deep knowledge of health/safety requirements in field work/construction (including RAMS, method statements, and compliance frameworks).
  • Organizational Acumen: Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across different sites.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Experience working with scheduling, engineering, and operational support teams.
  • MS 365:
