Who We Are
LMG has been at the forefront of innovation within the built environment since 1986.
We deliver integrated smart building technology projects and support services which provide sustainable long-term growth and profitability, as well as diverse range of career opportunities; enabling both our people and our clients’ businesses to flourish, whilst setting a new standard for what is possible in the built environment.
As experts in smart building technology, we want to inspire new ways of thinking, deliver excellence and establish new models for doing business – with people, partners and customers – built on trust and shared values, rather than transactional relationships.
Alongside actively working to support the raising of standards in training and professional qualifications, we invest heavily in the development of our people. We give them access to continuous learning opportunities, leading to the freedom of working autonomously and making their own informed decisions, whilst benefiting from a supportive and collaborative working environment.
The Role
As Smart Buildings Technical Services Manager, you will provide technical leadership and oversight across the full lifecycle of smart building projects and services. This will span pre-sales solution design, technical development, project delivery, installation, digital commissioning, systems integration, handover, and ongoing operational support.
The role is accountable for ensuring that smart building solutions are technically robust, compliant, commercially viable, and consistently delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, performance, and customer satisfaction.
Acting as a senior technical authority and subject matter expert, you will work collaboratively with engineering, commercial, project, and operational teams, as well as clients, technology providers, contractors, and specialist partners. You will provide technical direction, establish effective governance, manage delivery risks, and ensure that project and service outcomes align with client requirements, contractual commitments, and business objectives.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Technical resource planning
- Project and service governance
- Risk and quality management
- Client engagement
- Partner and supply-chain oversight
- Continuous performance improvement
You will be expected to identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency, technical capability, service performance, and the scalability of our smart building offering.
As a key member within the Smart Buildings team, the role will provide technical accountability across complex, integrated building technology solutions. These may include Building Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), Lighting Controls, Extra-Low Voltage Systems (ELVS), Vertical Transportation, automated blinds and shading, IoT sensors, and associated digital platforms and integrations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
