Smart Meter Technicians – Water Meter Installations
Northumbrian Water Region | United Infrastructure
About the Role
We are seeking Smart meter technicians for water meter installations across the Northumbrian Water region for a leading Utilities company.
You will be responsible for:
- The safe installation, maintenance, and removal of Smart Meters
- Responsiveness to maintenance requests
- Conducting both internal and external water meter installations
- Performing external surveys alongside installations
- Managing a number of daily jobs with the opportunity to request additional work
This is a long-term, secure contract opportunity as part of the Client’s internal team.
Key Responsibilities
- Completing full UK induction & training before live contract commencement
- Installation, maintenance, and safe removal of Smart Meters (both internal and external)
- Conducting external surveys as required
- Operating independently to complete daily job allocations, with the flexibility to request extra assignments
- Ensuring compliance with company and safety protocols
- Maintaining high standards of customer service

Requirements & Eligibility
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential for contract travel)
- Highly computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage and analyse large data sets
- Must undergo:
- Full background check
- Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Check
- Two reference checks
