Smart Water Meter Investigator – Leading Utilities Sector Role
Finlay Jude Associates are recruiting for Smart Water Meter Investigators with a leading organisation within the utilities sector.
No prior experience is required—full training, equipment, and a company vehicle will be provided.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a long-term career in the utilities sector. As a Smart Water Meter Investigator, you will:
- Work across the local water network
- Support field-based investigations into potential technical issues with installed Digital Water Metering (DWM) products
- These systems are part of an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), utilising the Vodafone NB-IoT network to connect to an AMI Operations Hub (AOH) for data collection and analysis

Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and diagnose technical issues with smart water meters (DWM products)
- Support field-based AMI systems activities
- Upload and validate meter data via company tablet and AMI software
- Assist with AMI Operations Hub (AOH) system checks
- Support various metering investigations and network surveys
- Deliver small investigation projects and work packages independently
- Operate in urban and suburban environments as a sole operative
What We’re Looking For
- Strong positive attitude and work ethic
- Customer service experience
- Physically fit, able to work outdoors in different weather conditions
- Clean UK driving licence
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, 40-hour weeks
