Job Purpose

To ensure that evidence-based Stop Smoking programmes are delivered to targeted populations across the borough. You will support individuals to make positive lifestyle changes using behaviour change interventions and motivational engagement, acting as the client’s main point of reference throughout their journey.

Using an integrated, holistic approach, you will help clients improve their health through smoking cessation, harm reduction, healthy eating, physical activity, alcohol reduction and stress management — with a primary focus on supporting individuals to stop smoking and reduce tobacco use.

You will deliver one-to-one (face-to-face and remote), drop-in and outreach sessions to help smokers achieve 4-week and 12-week quit outcomes, supporting long-term behaviour change. Approximately 80% of your week will be dedicated to clinical delivery.

About the Role

As a Smoking Cessation Advisor, you will:

  • Deliver tailored stop smoking and harm reduction interventions across Hounslow.
  • Provide one-to-one and drop-in clinics (face-to-face and remote).
  • Support clients using evidence-based behavioural and pharmacological interventions in line with national guidance.
  • Work in community settings including GP surgeries, pharmacies, schools, hospitals, and specialist services such as drug and alcohol providers.
  • Contribute to training community Smoking Cessation Advisors to expand service reach.
  • Address health inequalities by providing targeted support to priority groups including Mental Health, Young People, Routine & Manual workers and Maternity clients.
  • Support smokefree homes initiatives and conduct outreach work across the borough.
  • This is a varied, rewarding role requiring flexibility, including occasional evening and weekend work (time off in lieu provided).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
