6 months, Inside IR35. £550 per day

We are seeking an experienced Contract Senior Software Engineer to join a fast-paced Agile delivery team working on critical citizen and staff-facing public services.

In this role, you will provide hands-on Node.js expertise, technical leadership, and guidance to delivery teams, ensuring outcomes align with modern software engineering best practices. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable, and operationally stable products that impact millions of users.

  • Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers while championing engineering best practices.
  • Resilience and Scalability: Take ownership of the operational stability, performance, and scalability of the services you build.
  • DevOps and Automation: Embed strong automated testing (TDD) and CI/CD principles across the delivery pipeline.
  • Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (refinement, estimation, planning, and reviews), collaborating closely with Delivery Managers, BAs, Architects, and QA.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
