The Position: Senior / Principal Civil & Structural Technician

We are seeking an experienced Senior / Principal Civil & Structural Technician to join our growing team, delivering projects across the industrial, energy and water sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who can lead design delivery, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and support the development of junior staff.


Some of the main responsibilities of the Senior / Principal Civil & Structural Technician will include:

  • Lead the production of:
    • Steel layouts and connection details
    • Reinforced concrete detailing, schedules and BBS
    • Drainage layouts and foundation drawings
  • Checking and reviewing drawings and models for technical compliance and quality
  • Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and site teams during design development and delivery
  • Show commercial awareness with the ability to work to programmes, budgets and project deadlines
  • Deliver design packages with minimal supervision
  • Provide mentoring, guidance and technical coaching to junior team

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will be proactive, technically capable, and confident managing their own workload while contributing to wider project success. You will take pride in producing high-quality deliverables, solving practical design challenges, and helping develop others within the team.


Preferred Profile

  • Extensive practical experience in Civil & Structural design, with proven expertise in structural steel and reinforced concrete detailing
  • Proven experience delivering projects within the industrial, energy and/or water sectors
  • Proficiency in industry – standard 2D and 3D design tools, including AutoCAD and Revit (essential) with experience of AVEVA E3D preferred
  • Good understanding of Eurocodes and relevant UK civil and structural design standards
  • Experienced in working with both point cloud data and topographical survey data
  • Experience across the full project lifecycle, from concept and FEED through to detailed design
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Reside locally to Pembroke or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage.

Please note many of our UK projects require high-level security clearance meaning that visa sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on role criticality and project needs.
