Our client, a growing Managed Service Provider, is building out a dedicated 24-hour SOC/NOC function, and they're looking for Monitoring Engineers to be part of that team from the ground up. This isn't a slot in an established night shift — it's a genuine opportunity to help shape how the function runs as it scales.
You'll work a 4-on, 4-off pattern of 12-hour shifts, covering network monitoring, cyber alert triage, patching, and account administration overnight. In the early stages the team will be quieter while the full NOC build-out is completed, which means real scope to get stuck into housekeeping work and learn the environment properly before volumes ramp up.
Reporting into the team lead heading up the 24-hour SOC/NOC function.
What You'll Be Doing
- Monitoring client networks and infrastructure for issues and cyber alerts
- Triaging and escalating incidents in line with team process
- Carrying out scheduled patching
- Handling account creations and other routine, low-impact admin tasks overnight
- Building toward more advanced SOC/NOC responsibilities as the function matures

What We're Looking For
- Genuinely suited to nights and comfortable with 12-hour rotations — this is a specific way of working, and they'd rather find people who want it than people who'll tolerate it.
- Some exposure to network monitoring, IT operations, or a service desk/NOC environment
- Interest in cyber security fundamentals — alert awareness, patching discipline, account hygiene.
- Comfortable working with a degree of autonomy overnight, while staying connected to the wider team.
- Curious and keen to develop — this role is a foot in the door to a growing SOC/NOC function, not a static monitoring seat.
