Social Activities Coordinator – Braeburn House (Manchester)
About Braeburn House
Being an Social Activities Coordinator is so much more than just organising programmes. It’s about providing care, support, and empowerment to some of the most vulnerable people in society.
At Braeburn House, you will join our team to foster an activity-based culture, using both technical and creative skills to develop, deliver, and coordinate social, recreational, and leisure programmes tailored to service users.
You will form one-to-one and group rapport, ensuring activities align with individual interests and psychological treatment plans. Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team, you’ll also build connections with community-based resources to support engagement beyond the secure setting.
Key Responsibilities
As a Social Activities Coordinator, you will:
- Coordinate social and recreational activities for service users within a secure environment, who may have limited access to public services
- Gather information on service users’ social and recreational interests, adapting activities to their needs
- Observe and report on general behaviour, abilities, and responses to activities—verbally and in writing—to appropriate team members
- Document observations and progress in clinical notes under supervision
- Adhere to security protocols, service policies, and guidelines
- Conduct basic daily risk assessments for individuals and groups
- Uphold health, safety, welfare, and security standards for service users, staff, and visitors
- Develop effective coordination and resource management skills

About the Role
Location: Braeburn House, Charles Street, Salford, Manchester (M6 7DU)
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Braeburn House is a modern purpose-built rehabilitation facility specialising in males recovering from mental health illnesses who still require intensive support.

Requirements
Essential:
- Basic group work skills
- Clear Full UK Driver’s License
- Initiative and motivation
- Collision with team-based working environments
Desirable:
- 12+ months’ experience in mental health sector
- Awareness of Mental Health challenges & their impact
- Solution-focused problem-solving approach
- Gender and culturally sensitive practice
Helper Routes & Safeguarding:
- DBS disclosure required
- Commitment to safer recruitment, safeguarding, and equality standards
