Social Lettings Officer – Fixed Term (24 Months) – Hybrid Role

Contract Type: Fixed term (24 months) Working Hours: 37 hours per week Worker Type: Hybrid Salary: £32,597 – £35,412 per annum (pro rata for part-time) – pay award pending Location: Loxley House, Station Street, Nottingham, NG2 3NG

About the Role

As a Social Lettings Officer, your primary goal is to enhance access to private sector housing options and play a pivotal role in preventing homelessness. You will lead early intervention efforts, providing critical support to individuals and families facing housing challenges. Your expertise will create sustainable housing solutions, directly improving community well-being.

In this dynamic position, you will:

  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to develop and implement targeted housing strategies.
  • Ensure equitable access to safe and sustainable accommodation for Nottingham residents.
  • Focus on breaking down barriers to housing security through direct intervention and support.

About You – Key Requirements

We require candidates with:

  • A strong operational understanding of housing legislation in both public and private sectors.
  • Experience in property assessments, including evaluating design, space, and location suitability for housing needs.
  • Workplace expertise in supporting those who are rough sleeping, with an understanding of complex needs.
  • Ability to visit and inspect properties to identify hazards, safety failures, and disrepair, providing actionable recommendations.
  • A customer-focused ethos with a commitment to delivering high-quality services to vulnerable populations.
